Greek online lessons are like a Greek private lesson, but online, with a native Greek teacher of Omilo.

About the course

Greek courses at Omilo focus on all aspects of language learning: speaking, listening, reading and writing. During the online lessons the teacher will guide you through both vocabulary and grammar, keeping a balance between theory and practice. However, if you take a private online course and you wish to concentrate on a certain aspect of the language, this is of course possible. During the free 30 min  trial lesson, you can discuss your level, goals and expectations with the teacher, who will design a personalized program accordingly.

Useful information

Free Trial Lesson

As an online lesson with Skype or Zoom might be something you have not tried before, we offer a free trial lesson of 30 minutes. During this time, you can get to know your teacher, define your language level and talk about your goals with regard to learning Greek. After this free lesson, you can decide if you would like to start online lessons and discuss possible teaching dates and times.

Good to know

  • Minimum hours to book per contract: 10
  • One teaching hour = 55 minutes

How do Skype or Zoom lessons work?

Skype is software that enables conversations all over the world. Individuals and businesses use Skype on their PCs and devices to make free video and voice calls. Skype is free to download and easy to use. You can get Skype from the official Skype website.
Zoom is equivalent software for online lessons and meetings. You do not need to download it, but you will get an invitation link from you teacher by email.

Whether you would like to take a trial lesson first or you have already made an agreement with Omilo during one of your previous courses in Greece, these are the steps to follow:

  1. After receiving your email or registration form, we will arrange a free 30-minute Skype lesson with your teacher. The free trial lesson is very casual. You don’t need to prepare for anything. The purpose is for the teacher and student to get to knowyour language level and  a little more about each other. It is a very relaxed online session. You will discuss:
    – your learning needs and goals
    – course content and materials
    – available teaching times
    – any questions you may have

How to join the free trial lesson?

By email we will arrange the time and date of the free trial online lesson. In case of Skype, we will ask for your Skype user ID and will add your Skype ID to our Skype contact list. On the scheduled day and time, your teacher will call you on Skype and you will be added to the Skype conversation. Make sure that your microphone and video are connected. Please login in to your Skype account 10 minutes before your lessons and stay online until your teacher contacts you.
    Enjoy your lesson!

  2. If you have a good feeling about the trial lesson and you would like to start online lessons, you can discuss the time and date for the next lesson directly with the teacher and send us the online registration form as soon as possible. If you need extra time to think about signing up for online lessons, you can write us an email and send the registration form later on.
  3. After receiving the online registration form, we will send you the confirmation letter and payment details.
  4. Before the start of your first lesson, the payment corresponding to your agreement should be transferred to the bank account . (Omilo will ask you to pay for a minimum of 10 hours per agreement.)
  5. Any necessary changes to subsequent teaching times can be discussed directly with your teacher.
  6. Please note that you need a high-speed Internet connection. However, if the connection fails and you cannot connect again within the following 5 minutes, we will arrange another day to complete the lesson.
