A Greek Easter course, during an intensive one-week Greek language course in Nafplion is the perfect way to boost your knowledge at every language level. The Omilo team will guide you through a one-week program during which you can fully focus on improving your Greek language and communication skills. However, learning Greek is more than just being in a classroom; it’s also about getting to know the Greek culture and discovering Greece.

The idyllic city of Nafplion is the perfect setting to combine Greek language lessons with a beautiful holiday in Greece while experiencing the Greek Easter celebrations. With its interesting traditions and warm family atmosphere, Greek Orthodox Easter is one of the most celebrated events of the year in Greece. The Greek lessons end on Easter Saturday.  For those students that are interested, it is possible to join the Easter Saturday dinner and church service (Anastasi) at midnight, which is also the last activity organized by Omilo.

* Note: The Absolute Beginners & Beginners 1 levels are organised in a different way than the other language levels:
Those lessons take place during the afternoons from 14.30 till 17.30: total 18 hours.
You will have 3 hours/day in a class of max. 4 students
(or 2 hours/day when there is only 1 student in the level) for the same course fee.

How the course is organized?

On your arrival day (Saturday), the Omilo team will welcome you at 19.00 at the Nafplion School, where you will be introduced to the teachers and other participants. The program will be explained, as well as all the options for the cultural activities related to the Greek Easter festivities.
At around 20.00, all students are invited to a tavern meal in the center of Nafplion.
It is the perfect moment to get to know the other students, talk to the teachers, taste Greek food and eventually start communicating in Greek.

The following day (Sunday) your Greek lessons start.
They will run for six days, (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and again on  Friday and Saturday),
between 9.30 and 13.30.  (The beginners levels are organized during the afternoons)
Thursday is a free day to explore Nafplion and surroundings.
An organized day-excursion might be proposed as well, if enough students are interested to participate.

On the first day of the course, students will be asked to take a quick placement test so that they can be put in the level that is right for them. The course materials will be given to you during the course and are included in the price.

The course finishes on Easter Saturday.
Extra option; On Saturday evening, you are invited to celebrate Greek Easter Dinner with us in Nafplion (extra charge),
and attend the “Anastasi” – church service at midnight.

Therefore Omilo organizes, in addition to the intensive Greek lessons in the morning, various social and cultural activities during the afternoons (free of charge).

Group info

  • Courses are intended for adults of 26+ years of age, including seniors, of every nationality and language level.
  • Small classes, maximum of 8 students per class/language level (average size per class = 6)
  • 4 hours/day when there are 3 to 8 students per language level
    3 hours/day when there are 2 students per language level
    2 hours/day when there is 1 student in a language level
    for the same course fee

Language levels

  • There are 6 language levels possible (the average amount of language levels per course is between 4 and 6).If you want to learn more about what each language level means, please visit the Language Level Page .
    When registering for a course, you are asked to indicate your level and give us some extra information about the materials you used, how many lessons you have already had, etc. However, since all participants have other mother tongues, have used different course materials in their countries or have learned with different teaching methods, we will ask you to take a brief placement test on the first day of the course in order to be sure about your level and assign you to the appropriate class.

Daily schedule

  • Classes take place between 9.30 and 13.30
  • The last day of the course, Easter Saturday, classes end at 13.30.
  • There will be a break of 30 minutes every day.
  • At least 4 afternoon activities are offered. Most of the activities last from 1½ to 3 hours.

Daily schedule for the Absolute Beginners & Beginners 1 Language level

  • You follow the entire program and cultural activities as the other group participants. However, no level test is needed on Monday morning.
  • Classes take place between 14.30 and 17.30
  • You will have 3 hours/daily in a class of maximum 4 students, total of 18 hours (or 2 hours/day when you are alone in the level)
  • 6 teaching days
  • There will be a break of 20 minutes every day
  • At least 4 afternoon activities are offered. Most of the activities last from 1½ to 3 hours.
