Είναι φυσικό οι Έλληνες να έχουν ορισμένα έθιμα και για αυτήν την γιορτή.

Ανήμερα της Πρωτοχρονιάς, σ’ όλα τα ελληνικά σπίτια εδώ και πολλούς αιώνες, υποδεχόμαστε τον νέο χρόνο σπάζοντας ένα ρόδι στο κατώφλι της πόρτας μας για καλή τύχη. Είναι επίσης συνηθισμένο δωράκι ένα μεταλλικό ρόδι με κόκκινη κορδελίτσα, για να φέρει ‘γούρι’ (καλοτυχία) για τον νέο χρόνο.
