Accommodation On Syros Island, Azolimnos

Accommodation on Syros island; where to stay?

If you only intend to visit Syros for just a night or two, we’d suggest choosing a hotel in Ermoupoli, the island’s beautiful capital.
You’d want to spend at least a day in Ermoupoli, doing sightseeing, and exploring this fascinating city.
Also, Ano Syros is a great location to spend two days, but far from beaches, and be prepared to walk a lot of steps.

 Omilo organizes 1- and 2-week courses on Syros island, in  Azolimnos, (4 km south of Hermoupolis)

Therefore, we suggest for our students mostly accommodation close to the course location, in the village of Azolimnos.

Ρόδι: ένα «γούρι» για το νέο έτος!

Ανήμερα της Πρωτοχρονιάς, σε πολλά ελληνικά σπίτια εδώ και πολλούς αιώνες, υποδεχόμαστε τον νέο χρόνο σπάζοντας ένα ρόδι στο κατώφλι της πόρτας μας για καλή τύχη. Είναι επίσης συνηθισμένο δωράκι ένα μεταλλικό ρόδι με κόκκινη κορδελίτσα, για να φέρει ‘γούρι’ (καλοτυχία)  για τον νέο χρόνο.

Όπως και στις περισσότερες χώρες, η διαδικασία για να γίνει κάποιος γιατρός στην Ελλάδα διαρκεί αρκετά χρόνια και απαιτεί σκληρή δουλειά. Χρειάζεται λοιπόν πολύ μεράκι, πάθος και αφοσίωση αν αποφασίσει κανείς να ακολουθήσει αυτό το επάγγελμα! Ταυτόχρονα, συνεχίζει να αποτελεί ένα επάγγελμα υψηλού κύρους στην ελληνική κοινωνία, γεγονός που το καθιστά πιο ελκυστικό για τους νέους.

25η Μαρτίου: Η εθνική γιορτή για την ελληνική επανάσταση
Από την αρχαιότητα έως σήμερα, η Ελλάδα έχει ζήσει μεγάλα ιστορικά γεγονότα κι έχει βιώσει πολλούς πολέμους. Στην σύγχρονη εποχή, δύο είναι τα μεγαλύτερα γεγονότα στην ιστορία της. Η επανάσταση εναντίον των Οθωμανών και η συμμετοχή στον Β’ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο. Τα γεγονότα αυτά, οι Έλληνες τα τιμούν και τα εορτάζουν με δύο μεγάλες εθνικές επετείους: την 28η Οκτωβρίου και την 25η Μαρτίου.
