In our opinion, it definitely is, but you need to know what to expect.<br \/>\nYou also need to be flexible, and not have a fixed plan, since it is possible your plans need to change, depending on the weather.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Of course it is logic that\u00a0 you should expect colder and potentially wet weather, because in Greece winter is indeed winter. But don&#8217;t be surprised if you get some sunny days as well.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>For example,\u00a0 last week in Athens, we had 15-18 degrees with the sun shining . But some days after that, suddenly\u00a0 the temperatures\u00a0 dropped and the clouds came &#8211; we got heavy rain, and in the mountains a lot of snow!<\/p>\n<p>Having gone through previous photo albums of courses taking place between December and March, we got sunny courses as well as some courses with very bad weather &#8211; so really, anything it possible!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Regardless of what the weather does to you, there&#8217;s plenty of museums in Athens to visit on wetter days, and archaeological sites to go to when the weather is better.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So, while winter might not be the the typical Greek Summer Holiday, it can be a very interesting time nonetheless, with much less tourists, and more of a local vibe than at other times of year!\u00a0\u00a0So if you plan a visit\u00a0 in winter, do not forget to also pack a thick jacket, gloves and scarf.<\/div>\n<h2><strong>Things to do<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1. Ski<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The first thing we all think about when we hear &#8216;winter&#8217; is &#8216;winter sports&#8217;. And believe it or not, also this is something you can do in Greece. Thanks to its many mountains, there are several ski resorts where you can enjoy all kinds of winter fun. We hereby give you a shortlist of the highest mountains with great ski-resorts:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mount Voras Kaimaktsalan<\/strong>: located on the border between Greece and FYROM, well-organized resort with beautiful scenery. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kaimaktsalan.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here for more info.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>3 \u2013 5 pigadia<\/strong>: this ski center is situated 100 km from Thessaloniki and 17 km away from Naoussa. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.3-5pigadia.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here for more info.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Parnassos<\/strong>: this mythological place in central Greece offers a great place for your winter holiday. Closeby there is also a National Park where you can enjoy walking. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parnassos-ski.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here for more info.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Falakro<\/strong>: is a mountain in eastern Greek Macedonia, northern Greece. When there is no snow, you can see the mountains being covered with grasslands and forests, perfect for hiking. During winter, it offers an amazing ski-area. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.falakro.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here for more info.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kalavrita<\/strong> can be found in the east-central part of the regional unit of Achaea, Greece. Romantic stay<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>A cold winter night with a fireplace and a magnificent view. Maybe not the first thing that pops into your mind when thinking about Greece, but yet, definitely worth a try. To name only a few of them, we can certainly recommend you the following places:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arachova<\/strong><br \/>\nA mountain city in the western part of Viotia, laying at the foot of Mount Parnassos.<br \/>\nA cozy but lively village full of possibilities for nice dinners, walks, ski and culture.<br \/>\nNext to Arachova you can also visit the amazing Greek archeological site of Delphi.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/masaresi.com\/visiting-delphi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here for more info<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pilio<\/strong><br \/>\nA mountain with its many villages overlooking the sea. A rare and wonderful combination, ideal for winter&#8230;and summer!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monemvasia<\/strong><br \/>\nLocated on a small island off the east coast of the Peloponnese, but connected to the mainland. An extraordinary place, ideal for romantic walks in the town.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meteora<\/strong><br \/>\nDefinitely one of the most impressive parts of Greek nature created with high rock pillars. Meteora is also famous for its monasteries.<br \/>\nClose to the Meteora, is Metsovo. A beautiful town in the mountains, next to a ski resort<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/masaresi.com\/kalambaka-meteora\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Click here for more info<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kastoria<br \/>\n<\/strong>A lovely town in Northern Greece, with a history closely tied to the Byzantine Empire.<br \/>\nThe town flourished during this period, especially between the 9th and 14th centuries,becoming a significant center for trade.<br \/>\nIts strategic location near the Via Egnatia, an important Roman road back then, contributed to its economic prosperity.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/masaresi.com\/kastoria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here for more info<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Arcadia<br \/>\nThis is the prefecture of mountains, meat &amp; fireplaces.
