Omilo Teachers & Staff<\/h1>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>

Our team of teachers has been carefully selected according to their academic qualifications, experience and personality. They not only teach you the Greek language, but also share their wealth of knowledge about Greece in the past and present. As a result, your classes will be stimulating and fun.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All Omilo teachers are university graduates and native Greek speakers with experience in teaching Greek as a Foreign Language. They are fluent in English and also competent in other European languages.<\/p>\n

Omilo teachers have the following in common: apart from their teaching experience, they have a friendly and helpful attitude; they are open-minded and interested in your countries and cultures; they love Greece and would like to show you the \u201creal Greece.\u201d Our teachers love their job and do it with passion. They will help you establish clear learning objectives and encourage you to speak Greek from the very first day. If you are a student in the intensive group classes, you will have at least two teachers, but even if you are taking a different kind of course, you will most likely meet them all during the various afternoon activities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Co-Founder and director of Omilo<\/strong>.
\nHe was born and raised in Athens.<\/p>\n

Dimitris has been involved with education and teaching for more than 30 years. Apart from his BA from the University of Thessaloniki, he obtained an MBA degree from Drexel University in the USA. For 20 years, Dimitris was primarily teaching the advanced students as well as communication classes during the intensive courses between Easter and September. Since 2020 he primarily handles the organizational, financial and administrative aspects of the school, as well as the PR and management of the Omilo-team.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>

Co-founder of Omilo and Program Coordinator<\/strong>.
\nShe was born & raised in Belgium and has been living in Greece since 1993.<\/p>\n

Maya has a degree in \u00ab\u00a0Translating and Interpreting\u00a0\u00bb from the University of Antwerp, Belgium. After working as a language teacher and translator in various language schools in Belgium, Maya went to the U.S. for a Master\u2019s in Arts Administration at Drexel University in Philadelphia. For one full year, she worked as the administrative assistant at Inlingua Language School in New Jersey.
\nAt Omilo, Maya is in charge of marketing, administration and emails, the Omilo Newsletter (The Monthly Dose of Sunshine<\/a>),\u00a0 the website, social media and cultural activities, Youtube channel, creates most of the Free eBooks and other Publications<\/a>,
\nand is the author of the Easy Greek Podcast Stories.<\/a>
\nShe speaks Greek, Dutch, English, German, and French<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>

\nShe was born and raised in Korinthos.<\/p>\n

Marina is a graduate of the School of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology at the University of Athens and received additional training in Adult Education and Intercultural Education as well as in Analysis and Management of Group Dynamics. Besides teaching, she is involved in cultural group activities. She speaks English, Spanish and a bit of German.<\/p>\n

Marina is one of the authors of the Greek Language book \u03a6\u03cd\u03b3\u03b1\u03bc\u03b5 \u03b3\u03b9\u03b1 \u03b5\u03bb\u03bb\u03b7\u03bd\u03b9\u03ba\u03ac<\/a>! \nHe was born and raised on the island of Crete.<\/p>\n

Konstantinos is a graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Philosophy and holds a Master\u2019s degree in Applied Linguistics (University of Essex, UK). He has taught Modern Greek as a foreign language at the Hellenic Centre in London as well as at other educational institutions in the British capital. In addition to teaching, he is involved in developing course materials and guiding new teachers. Since 2007 he has been an oral examiner for the Examination for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek<\/a>, organized by the Center for the Greek Language. He speaks fluently English .<\/p>\n

\nMyrto was born and raised in Athens, though she has family roots in Lemnos and Preveza. She holds a degree in Philology with a major in Linguistics from the Faculty of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Continuing her academic journey, she completed a Master’s in \u00ab\u00a0Teaching Greek as a Second\/Foreign Language\u00a0\u00bb, where she was also teaching for a year. In addition to her academic work, Myrto participated in the GYP TaMam program (Language Support for Refugees – Mothers’ Classes) , offering voluntary lessons to refugee women.\u00a0 Myrto has further training in Intercultural Education and has primarily worked as an online educator, teaching Greek via online platforms and Zoom. She is fluent in English. She enjoys connecting with people from around the world, sharing both the Greek language and the rich culture of Greece.<\/p>\n

Apart from teaching, Myrtoula also helps with the organization of the Athens courses, as well as marketing and social media, creating educational teaching materials<\/a>, freeBooks<\/a>, as well as Youtube videos<\/a>.

Elia was born and raised in Thessaloniki, but now lives in Athens. She studied Philology, specializing in Linguistics, at the School of Humanities of the Democritus University of Thrace. She continued her studies with the Master\u2019s Program \u201cCognitive Science and Language\u201d at the University of Barcelona. After that, she did her internship at the Greek Community of Catalonia, where she enjoyed teaching Greek as a foreign language. Apart from that, Elia also did further training in Intercultural Education. For some years, Elia has worked as a Greek teacher online, as well as in educational centers in Athens. She speaks English, French, and Spanish.<\/p>\n

Vasso (\u03b2\u03b1\u03c3\u03b9\u03bb\u03b9\u03ba\u03ae) was born in Athens, and lives in centre Athens. She is a graduate of the School of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology at the University of Athens . She is a very experienced teacher, and regularly teaches for Omilo in the Athens courses taking place in Maroussi. Apart from group courses, she teaches a lot of private lessons and for companies, as well as online. She speaks fluently English and a bit of French.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>

Nelly was born and raised in Athens.<\/div>\n
She studied Italian language and literature at the Kapodistrian University of Athens. For the last 5 years she has been teaching Italian and Greek as foreign languages \u200b\u200bto children and adults. Until now, she has collaborated with various language institutes, the Italian School of Athens, as well as the Greek community of Rome, where she taught greek to Italian speakers of various levels and ages. She has attended numerous educational seminars, such as special education, teaching foreign languages, classroom management, adult education. She is currently a postgraduate student at the University of Piraeus, in the department of administration and management of educational units.<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>

Part-time teacher at OMILO since 2011<\/strong>.
\nShe was\u00a0born and raised in Athens.<\/p>\n

Terpsi studied Greek Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Philosophy, during which time she attended a six-month program in Linguistics at the University of Salzburg in Austria. She holds a Master\u2019s Degree in Theoretical and Comparative Linguistics (University of Grenoble 3, France). In addition to teaching Modern Greek as a foreign language, she also has experience in teaching modern and ancient Greek to youngsters in secondary schools.\u00a0 She speaks English, French and a little German.
\nTerpsi was working full-time at Omilo till 2020. After becoming a mother, she is involved with creating eBooks for the Lydia eBooks, as well as responsible for its marketing and social media<\/p>\n

The Omilo staff works together with the teachers to help students make as much progress as possible. They test new students to make sure they are placed in the correct level; they offer help and advice to students who need it; they put together enjoyable extra-curricular activities. The staff also takes care of answering emails and phone calls as quickly as possible. Moreover, they write articles for the Omilo Blog as well as for the newsletters. Apart from helping students, the staff members are also responsible for the website and social media. They speak various languages and have a shared passion for language learning.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n
