Omilo’s New Year Course:  Wednesday 27/12/17 till Monday 01/01/2018

Every nation has different ways to celebrate New Year. Also in Greece, there are many traditions related to Christmas and New Year. For the 5th year in a row, the Omilo-team is looking forward to welcome students and celebrate together. During this course you will not only learn a lot of Greek, but you will be able to put the theory in practice during the afternoon activities and celebrate together with the Greeks.

Suggestive Program

Note: changes can occur, depending on the available cultural program in Athens (many times there are last-minute options), as well as personal choices of the Omilo students.

Wednesday 27/12/17 
10.00: Welcome and start of program in the Omilo School in Maroussi (North Athens)
10.15 – 14.00: first lessons (+ small test to define different language levels).
14.15: Lunch in local Tavern in Maroussi (included in the course fees)

Thursday 28/12/17 
10.00 – 14.00: Greek Lessons
17.00-20.00: guided evening walk in centre Athens
20.30: Optional tavern dinner (+/- 25 euro/person)

Friday 29/12/17 
10.00 – 14.00: Greek Lessons
Free afternoon: museum, studying, shopping? Concert? Theatre? Performance? To be discussed

Saturday 30/12/17 
10.00 – 14.00: Guided morning walk in Northern Suburbs Maroussi and Kifissia + museums
14.00 – 18.00: Greek Lessons

Sunday 31/12/17
10.00 – 14.00: Greek Lessons + cutting the Vassilopitta and learning the traditional New Year Carols
Around 22.00: dinner and “New Year program” (lasting till first hours of 1/1/18)
(Location depending on programs in Athens, which are only available in December).  Suggestive price: 50 euro/person, wine & water included)

Monday 01/01/18 
Free, No lessons (possibility for Greek concert/theatre/movie during late afternoon/evening)

End of program

Price: 470 euro

Tuition includes: 20 hours instruction, course materials, one tavern meal on the first course day, two guided walks in Athens, visit to theatre/concert (ticket not included), celebrating New Year together (extra charge for dinner ) coffee and tea during the breaks….and a lot of fun!
